Most sofas that "don't fit" were never measured against the one thing that matters: not the room — the route. The wall it will sit on is usually fine. The front door, the hallway turn and the staircase are where orders go wrong. This guide takes five minutes and settles it before you order.
Step 1: Measure the narrowest point of the route. Walk the exact path the sofa will travel, from the front door to its final spot, and measure every doorway, pinch point and turn on it. Standard UK internal doors are around 76cm wide, but older homes and flats are often narrower — measure yours, do not assume. Write down the smallest number on the route; that number is your limit.
Step 2: Compare it with the sofa's smallest dimension. A sofa does not travel flat — the delivery team angles and turns it, so the figure that matters is usually its height or depth, not its full length. For reference, our Hannah 3 Seater measures 190 × 87 × 70cm and the 2 Seater 155 × 87 × 70cm, while the Monaco U-shaped suite (305 × 164 × 72cm overall) arrives in sections, so each piece on the route is far smaller than the finished suite. If the sofa's smallest dimension is comfortably below your route's narrowest point, you are clear.
Step 3: Check the turn, not just the door. Most failed deliveries happen at the right-angle turn just inside the front door or at the bottom of the stairs. Measure the hallway width at the turn and picture the length of the sofa swinging through it — long pieces need a wide swing. If in doubt, send us the measurements before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
What happens on the day. Our own two-person delivery team brings the sofa in and places it in your room of choice. Delivery is free to a ground-floor room across the UK mainland; taking it to an upper floor is £10–£20, paid in cash to the driver on the day.
